It’s not all doom and gloom for The X Factor’s latest evictee Melanie Masson.
The 44-year-old has been promised a helping hand in the music business by X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger.
The former Pussycat Dolls star took Melanie to one side as soon as the results show finished on Sunday night and praised the blues singer’s incredible voice.
She also admitted she’d wanted to be her mentor all along and promised to help her launch a career in the US of A.
Nicole’s tug of war with Gary
But Melanie’s mentor Gary Barlow’s not best pleased about Nicole’s offer, as he also wants to help Melanie and has even offered to write songs for the Scottish mum-of-two.
A show source said: “Nicole got on stage to ask for a word with Melanie as soon as the results show ended. She spoke to her for ten minutes, telling her she thought her voice was amazing.
“Nicole said she was sure there would be a market for her songs in America and she was dying to take her out there. Melanie accepted on the spot.”
And yesterday Melanie revealed what happened with Gary.
“Gary wants to write for me. He loves my voice and said that he would kill to pen a track for me.
“He was obviously disappointed to have lost a second act on Sunday. But it’s been a fantastic experience.”
Melanie had to say goodbye to her Over 28s category and the rest of the X Factor contestants on Sunday night when she ended up in the bottom two.
She battled District 3 to stay in the show, but after the decision was taken to deadlock Melanie was sent packing.
Melanie’s exit marks the second Over 28 to get the boot. Last week Gary lost Carolynne Poole after Louis Walsh made the decision to take the decision to deadlock, which saw Rylan Clark receive more public votes than Carolynne.
