Rylan Clark doesn’t know the difference between Darren Day and Jason Donovan, according to Jason Donovan. But deep down, can any of us truly say, with certainty, that we could distinguish between the two? Well, yes. But moving on.

As The Sun reports, Rylan bumped into Jason Donovan backstage at The X Factor show on Saturday. Jason Donovan facts: Jason Donovan is one of Gary Barlow’s best buds. Who knew.

Mistake

Anyway, Rylan instantly mistook Jason (good guy, technicolour dreamcoat, Australian) for Darren Day (love rat, colourful private life, not Australian), a mistake he not-at-all styled out by squealing Darren Day’s name at Jason Donovan. Repeatedly.

“A tall, scary character came leaping towards me,” Jason told his Heart FM listeners. It’s Hallowe’en today, remember.  “Hairspray, mascara. Yes, it was Rylan. He recognised me and said, ‘Oh no, it’s Darren Day’.”

It was not Darren Day.

 

“Darren Day!,” said Jason Donovan. Keep up. “I couldn’t believe it. Last week, my daughter said I look like Daniel Craig. Not quite as aspirational this week, but I’ll survive. Will Rylan, though?”
