Nothing can get in the way of a teenage girl with the crazy eyes for a boyband, not locked doors, not security guards, not complicated alarms made of lasers. And that’s something X Factor hopefuls Union J have found to their unrelenting terror after fans broke into their hotel room in central London.
As the boys recounted to The Sun today, they were forced to draft in more security after two incidents in which teenage girls found their way outside their rooms at the X Factor hotel and presumably got all weepy and manic while having the words ‘Union J’ scrawled on them in make-up.
Look how scared they look. Look at them.
“Fans have broken into the hotel twice now,” said Josh out of Union J (or, ‘JOOUJ’). “One of the times they were right outside our rooms in the corridor.”
Kind of like a zombie movie
“We could see them trying to work out which rooms we were in before someone noticed and they were removed by two beefy security lads.”
Curiously, ‘Beefy Security Lads’ will be the name of a boyband on next year’s cycle of the show. (They will be eliminated in the first week).
“Since then our security has been at least five or six times tighter,” whispered JOOUJ, from behind a sofa, crouched out of view.
Imagine an entourage about this size, but made of security, not rejected bands
Final two
Earlier this month, Union J – that’s JJ out of Union J, Jaymi out of Union J and Josh out of Union J, along with George ‘messes up the J-thing’ Shelley – had to cancel a public appearance because thousands of fans had already assembled, howling and crying and basically the whole to-do.
Which is weird seeing as the boys ended up in the Bottom Two at the culmination of this week’s show. They survived a sing-off against Jade Ellis, but still. Still. Up your game, Union J fans. Less terrorising, more voting.
