“Just thinking, can’t believe my x factor journey started over 9 months ago! WOW. Gonna continue to work so hard for you all. Let’s do this x” is what the newly found confident Christopher Maloney tweeted earlier this afternoon.
He performed Mariah Carey's Hero last night at The X Factor's first live show and even we got a little bit teary-eyed watching!
Although Nicole Scherzinger dubbed the performance a little bit 'cheesy' and Tulisa Contostvalos said it was slightly 'dated' Christopher received a full-sweep of approval for his amazing vocals!
Becoming an official finalist for The X Factor through default as a wildcard, Christopher beat other wildcard nominees Adam Burridge, Amy Mattrom and boy band Times Red.
When he received the news Christopher rolled around on the floor and began shaking.
The lovely, comical Dermot O’Leary was the first to ease out Christopher’s excitement when he said, “The shaking thing is your default position.”
After managing to compose himself the teary-eyed Liverpudlian said, “I just want to thank everyone I’m just so happy and I’m so proud.”
Prior to these results, Christopher said, “I feel like the luckiest man alive. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would even be considered as a wildcard. I would love to get on that stage and sing for my city. I hope everyone in Liverpool gets behind me.”
Looks like dreams do come true, but he still has a long way to go! We love Christopher, his genuine enthusiasm and passion to succeed.
We're so much happier to see a more confident Christopher! What else do you think he could improve on? Is he a possible X Factor winner?
