Christopher Maloney has revealed that his winner’s single for the X Factor will surprise the public! The wild card turned finalist has recorded his track alongside his fellow contestants Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur.
Shocking, eh? Maybe it’s a Christmas rap? Or even a Gangnam style tribute to his nan?
The 34-year-old has split public opinion and should he win the competition, it sounds as though his single may do the same.
“If I'm lucky enough to win, I've recorded the winner's single, which is for charity.”
“You'll be very surprised when you listen to it. If I get through to the grand final on Sunday I'll get to sing it.”
Oh we cannot wait, Chris.
The 34-year-old has faced criticism on the show for his song choices previously – being accused of playing it safe with his 80’s power ballads and put down by Louis Walsh for going too modern with some Michael Buble.
Former cruise ship singer Christopher will only get to perform the song, which is being kept a closely-guarded secret, if he makes it into the final two.
“I loved your first song, but that was kind of back to the karaoke for me, I don't think you're Michael Buble.”
You win some you lose some, Chris.
Not everyone dislikes the Liverpudlian however and his mentor Gary is his number one fan.
“The stick from Tulisa and Louis has been a good thing. He's the underdog but he sings consistently well each week.”
But will he be able to steal the show? Either way, we want to hear his song now!
