In last night’s episode of the Midnight Beast, we saw the boys getting up to all sorts of hijinks in a club so they could get as drunk as possible without spending too much money. Now, celebs don’t seem to have a problem on the money side – even the Z-listers among them are invited to events where the bar is free all night. But that makes it much, much harder for them to handle their drink. Check out this gallery of our top five drunken celebrity moments that have made it onto camera!

This clip, filmed during Cheryl Cole’s Girls Aloud days, shows the popstar looking her not-so-glamorous self. After drinking a bit too much and getting on a coach, she has to stumble over to throw up and have a little sit down next to a plant pot. Sheesh. After three cocktails, wine and no dinner, we’d be pretty trashed, too!

24 star Kiefer Sutherland has run into a few problems to do with alcohol – he spent 18 days in prison once after being found guilty of driving under the influence. In a separate, hilarious moment, filmed as he took a band on tour (he was their tour manager!) and got drunk around Christmas time. After being called a pirate, he took the opportunity to…well, we’ll just let you watch and enjoy it…

Faced with a gig at T in the Park in the sodding rain, Lily Allen had to drink to get through it. After her set, she joined those rascals the Arctic Monkeys for an interview with Lauren Laverne and Zane Lowe. Told to mind her swearing, she gets through about three minutes with only one f-bomb. Though Alex Turner is convinced she said the s-word, she only actually said “shipped” – is it us or is dear Alex a bit highly strung in this clip? We’d LOVE to hang out with a tipsy Lily Allen!

Accepting an award for her turn in the film Precious, Mariah was a bit worse for wear, confessing to her tipsiness as she took to the stage. She later told Entertainment Tonight that she got drunk because she was “celebrating” the win before winning (cheeky…) and that she hadn’t seen her director in a long time, so they wanted to catch up with a few drinks. You can’t really blame her, though. If we’d managed to pull an acting career together after the stinkingly awful Glitter, we’d get hammered celebrating, too!

Opinion-dividing artist Tracey Emin didn’t win the art world’s highly-coveted Turner Prize in 1997 (her entry was an unmade bed scattered with dirty knickers and condoms). But she still had a great night out. As well as drinking some wine, she’d been on a load of painkillers for a broken finger, and here are the results. This moment on TV shot her to fame…or infamy, beyond the art world. This is the video that shot her to fame, or infamy… She later said she'd been so drunk that she didn’t realise that she was on the BBC until her friends called her up and told her the next day!
